Minimum Hardware & Software Standards for Full Support
To provide you with the most reliable, secure, and proactive support, we require that your hardware and software meet the following standards. These benchmarks ensure your environment is fully compatible with our systems and eligible for full SLO (Service Level Objectives) coverage.
Anything outside of these standards? No problem — we’ll still offer best-effort support, and we’ll work with you to get your tech up to speed. But there may come a time when upgrades are essential to continue full support.

Hardware Requirements
Computers & Laptops
To qualify for full support, workstations must be:
- Manufactured by a recognized business-class vendor, including:
- Dell
- Hewlett Packard (HP)
- Lenovo
- Carbon Systems
- Apple
- Current, supported business-class models only
(Consumer-grade devices are not eligible for SLO coverage) - Within 3 years of the original manufacture date
- Or within 5 years, if still under a vendor-supported warranty
- Running a currently supported Windows desktop/laptop operating system (Professional version or higher) or the latest macOS
- Equipped with a solid-state primary drive
- A minimum of an Intel Core i5 or equivalent processor
- At least 8GB of RAM
- Under a current vendor-supported warranty
- In good physical condition (no major damage or wear impacting usability or safety)
Servers
- Manufactured within the past 5 years
- Running a currently supported version of Windows Server
- Properly licensed and covered by vendor/manufacturer support
- Under a current vendor-supported warranty

Firewalls
- Fortinet NGFW
Switches & Access Points
- Current generation Aruba switches and access points
Wiring & Environment
- Wiring must be Cat 5e or better
- Equipment should be housed in a network room or space with proper cooling, power, and accessibility

Mobile Devices & Tablets
To qualify for support, devices must:
- Be manufactured within the last 3 years
- Run current iOS or Android OS
- Be from one of the following brands:
- Apple
- Samsung
- Motorola

Software Requirements
Cloud Services
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Teams / SharePoint / OneDrive
Line of Business (LOB) & Other Apps
- Must be current and legally licensed
- Must have a manufacturer support contract in place
Approved Software
Software you can install freely:
- Microsoft 365 Suite
- Google Chrome
- Adobe Reader / Acrobat
- Any pre-approved LOB apps

Disallowed Software
We take your cybersecurity seriously. The following software will be removed from supported systems if found:
- P2P/File sharing tools: BitTorrent, eMule, LimeWire, etc.
- Tune-up utilities: Driver Update Pro, IOLO, Restoro, Ashampoo, etc.
- Third-party antivirus/security: Symantec, AVG, Malwarebytes, etc.
- Unauthorized remote access tools: GoToMyPC, LogMeIn, TeamViewer, etc.

Backups & Disaster Recovery
- Systems must utilize current Datto devices for BDR (Backup and Disaster Recovery)
